With my years of experience as a teacher, mentor, writer, and mom, I would enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills with you. Whether you are challenged to write an essay, book report, or research paper, I am available to guide and assist you. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than having a positive impact on a student. Everyone has specific skills, talents, likes and dislikes. I begin with students where they are and guide them to where they want or need to be academically and personally. I will support and motivate you while sharing the tools needed to complete your assignments and master your skills. With my direct communication style, I create an informal and comfortable atmosphere, sometimes infusing my sense of humor or personal anecdote. In my personal life, I am a freelance writer with by-lines in several local publications. My passions are traveling, reading, cooking and dancing. I look forward to meeting you.
Teacher Specialization
With my master's degree in secondary education-English, I taught 7th, 8th and 9th grade English and reading in Philadelphia for 8 years. Additionally , I taught English Language Arts and basic and creative writing at an evening school for young adults; and more recently have been tutoring high school seniors in preparing their college application essays. As a writer and journalist I offer a wide range of language arts and communication skills with an focus on self expression.
