Hi! My name is Ms. Barney. I have two passions: love of teaching math and the love of the game of golf! There is a lot of math in a golf game, and I like to use golf and other sports to teach math. I have been involved with youth sports my whole life, mostly coaching youth basketball. I love tutoring math and have been very successful in getting students back on track to understanding the material they are learning. I believe most students are visual learners, so I prefer to present the math with pictural demonstrations. I want my students to know the "why" behind what they're doing, solving or using formulas. This way, the student has a better chance to retain the information. It's important for students to trust that I can help them. I work to build a sense of confidence that all students can achieve their goals through emphasizing their successes.
