Bio
Hi there, I'm Ms. Smiley! I've been working for Stride for the past 5 years. I'm certified to teach K-6th General Education, but I currently serve our Texas-based students as a Reading Interventionist. My hope is to make learning accessible to all students and I believe that starts with letting them know that it's perfectly fine to ask for additional help. I'm here to facilitate that and we will get through it together. Outside of teaching, I enjoy running a small business and dancing. I've always enjoyed being creative and I encourage that same thing amongst my students. It's absolutely okay to have fun and learn at the same time. I'm excited to help students reach their fullest potential and show growth in their educational journey.
Teacher Specialization
I started teaching with Stride in 2020. During that first year, I taught 5th grade Reading and History. For the last three years, I've been working as a Reading Interventionist. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (EC-6th) and a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology, so I also enjoy focusing in on how students process the information that is being taught to them. I have also done Summer Bridge and content support for a few family friends.
