Greetings! Throughout my long career, the highest job satisfaction I have had is when students overcome their classroom challenges. Every child is different, and I use my decades of experience to meet students where they are in their learning journey. As I tutor single or small groups of students, I personalize my lesson plans to meet their specific needs. Physical movement is essential in learning, and I incorporate it in my in-person and online classrooms whenever possible. I specialize in teaching English, language arts, history, and geography. I've also taught English, geography, and Indian history in India! Over nine months in total, I worked with an NGO as a volunteer teacher in three remote village schools in the Himalayan mountains. My classroom experience includes third, fourth, and fifth grades in elementary (9 years), plus sixth and seventh grades teaching social studies and language arts (11 years). Before teaching, I spent a little over ten years working with children with disabilities. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Education from Winona State University. I am certified to teach all subjects K-6 plus middle school language arts and social studies.
