Bio
Hey! My name is Sherry Yearty, and I love literature, history, animals, music of many genres and eras, art, and creating arts and crafts. I'm excited about working with you! I love helping students employ their individual learning styles to approach academics with new understanding and enhanced skills using as many of their senses as possible. It is important for students to see in what ways they’re doing great and what areas have opportunities to improve, so I do my best to provide examples of what that improvement could look like. I also love getting to know students in order to incorporate their unique strengths into the learning process!
Teacher Specialization
My credentials include a BA in English Lit with a Business minor and an MA in Teaching with a specialization in English Lit. I’ve taught courses such as MS English 7 & 8; HS English I - IV; HS Honors English I - III; Dev English/Reading; English 101/102; British Lit; and Grammar. I have virtual and in-person tutoring experience in English, organizational & study skills, SAT/ACT Lit, and grammar prep. I’ve worked with exceptional students including G&T, ADD/ADHD, 504, Resource, and ELL Exchange.
