Hi! My name is Theresa Sawaya. I am originally from Philadelphia, PA (so yes, I am an Eagles fan). Currently, I live in Dubuque, IA and have also lived in Boston, AM and Phoenix, AZ. I enjoy watching sports (especially football), reading, working out, and waking/playing with my three pups. I believe that all students have the desire and ability to learn and I enjoy helping them achieve their goals. I like to challenge and empower students. We all learn differently, so I like to find out how best my students learn and tailor lessons to best fit their style. My goals for tutoring are to best help my students achieve their goals. I look forward to meeting and learning about my students dreams, interests, and passions.
Teacher Specialization
I have been teaching for 18 years. Initially, I taught 8th grade and Honors Math. For the last 7 years, I have taught Special Education at the High School level. I concentrated on Algebra, Geometry, and US History.
