My name is Angela Estrada-Dennis. I am excited to support, encourage, and inspire my students love of learning and its challenges, too. I believe that students are resilient and can overcome learning obstacles by having a growth mindset-- the belief that students most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, resulting in a love of learning and leading to success (Dweck, 2015). My educational philosophy supports the idea of growth mindset: Once a student (and Educator) commits to their learning and works to their highest potential, the sky truly is the limit. As a result, my role as teacher will provide guidance and understanding for students through their learning journeys.
For the past 20 years, I have been an Educator in many different capacities. I have taught grades 3-8 full time, substitute taught in grades k-12, and had the opportunity to become a long term substitute in Special Education. I also taught kindergarten and pre-k in summer school and tutored former students. I have been a proponent for equity in Education my entire career as a teacher in the public and private school sector and have the belief that all students can and will succeed.
