Bio

Hi. I'm Mr. Starc, a mathematician and an educator. I believe that every student can learn, especially when they are inspired. My goal is to inspire students by showing them how math relates to their interests and why we study specific concepts. For each tutoring session, I hope to deliver world-class lessons by providing clear examples, inviting students to ask questions, and writing legibly with my Wacom tablet. I try to ask questions, so I can identify what students know and how to move forward.

Teaching Specialization

I have been tutoring math since 2002, which is the year I graduated from Elmhurst College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. I taught math to middle school and high school students for ten years. That included 6th math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Advanced Algebra 2, PreCalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Statistics. My experience teaching allows me to meet students where they're at and show them the best math tips and tricks.
