Hi. I'm Mr. Starc, a mathematician and an educator. I believe that every student can learn, especially when they are inspired. My goal is to inspire students by showing them how math relates to their interests and why we study specific concepts. For each tutoring session, I hope to connect with students by asking questions that help me understand their world, math and otherwise. I invite students to ask questions as well, from recent lessons, homework exercises, or review. I use a Wacom tablet, which allows me to write legibly on the Whiteboard.

Teacher Specialization

I have been tutoring math since 2002, which is the year I graduated from Elmhurst College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. I taught math to middle school and high school students for ten years. That included 6th math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Advanced Algebra 2, PreCalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Statistics. My experience teaching allows me to meet students where they're at and show them the best math tips and tricks.
