Bio
I love working with young people and sharing the passion I have for learning about the English language! One of the most important subjects in school is English. Reading and writing confidently are imperative for strong communication skills in adulthood. I am energetic, patient, comfortable with kids grades 6 and up, and so excited to help! I see individual tutoring as a tool for student choice and agency. Learning cannot be "one size fits all," but there are many challenges keeping schools from individualizing education. Tutoring is a perfect inlet to fill this need. I love thinking creatively and working with students to find learning modalities that get students to the desired learning outcomes in ways that work for THEM. Tutoring is about YOU and YOUR child, and my ultimate goal is to make sure you feel seen, heard, and understood so that you can learn confidently!
Teacher Specialization
I have 10 years' tutoring experience, both in person and online. After completing my Bachelor's in Creative Writing and Literature and minor in Hearing and Deaf Studies, I earned my Master's in Education from Northwestern University. In my eight years of classroom experience, I have worked extensively with Multilingual Learners, and am currently pursuing a specialized English Learner Educator certificate. I love teaching and learning about the incredible power of language!
