Bio
Hello! My name is Amy. I enjoy exploring the state of Florida (where I live) with my kids and husband in my free time. We especially love hiking, kayaking, and going to the beach! Watching students get excited about learning brings me so much joy! Students learn best when they are actively engaged and motivated. That's why I love to plan lessons centered on students' interests to make the learning meaningful for them. Feedback should be immediate and specific to ensure students know how they are doing as a lesson progresses. I always strive to make sure my feedback lives up to that. Students are most successful when they can be creative and think outside of the box. I plan lessons that give students ample time to stretch those creative, problem-solving muscles. I will do this through lessons that are high-energy and engaging. I believe that students should be treated with respect and care because I know that students who feel loved and safe will be the most successful!
Teacher Specialization
I hold a current professional teaching license for Elementary Education K-6 with a Reading Endorsement and an ESOL Endorsement. I taught public school 4th and 5th grades for 4 years, private school K-6th grade for three years, and I have been homeschooling my own elementary-aged children for 5 years.
