Chanel M.
Bio
Welcome everyone! My name is Ms. Chanel and I am so excited about you becoming a part of my reading family! Speaking of family, I have four sons whom I adore. We enjoy bike riding and eating pepperoni pizza, while watching our favorite movie. In my spare time, I like reading a good mystery book and taking long walks in the park. My mission is to respect my students unique learning needs with patience and understanding for where they are now in their reading journey, as well as, setting goals for their future success. I aim to achieve an individualized learning approach by using differentiated instruction for each students' learning needs. I know what it's like to feel embarrassed to read. I wasn't always a good reader. But with determination I became someone who now reads as a hobby. So my goal is to create a happy and supportive relationship with my students. One that fosters an environment of everyone feeling comfortable reading and sharing their ideas with each other.
Teacher Specialization
I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's degree in Special Reading K-12. During the pandemic, I worked as a full-time, online elementary school teacher, in the Hazelwood School District. And a part-time, online reading tutor for the Springfield School District.
