Bio
Hello! I am Mrs. Dee White. I am a retired public-school teacher and administrator. I have enjoyed my career as an educator. Teaching, in my opinion, is the most rewarding profession. Teachers make a positive difference in the lives of their students. My passion is teaching reluctant students to enjoy reading and writing. I accomplish that by providing quality reading and writing instruction that meets the needs of my individual students. If you choose me as a tutor, I will monitor progress and reteach when appropriate. I will create a learning environment where my students feel safe and are comfortable asking for help when it is needed. I will be an active listener and will encourage my students to do their best. We will have a great time when we are working together.
Teacher Specialization
I have 22 years of experience. I have served as a Teacher, Instructional Coach and School Principal. My Texas Certifications are EC-6 Generalist, EC-12 ESL and EC-12 Special Education. I am also certified as a Dyslexia Teacher. My expertise is in classroom oversight, course planning, and rigorous instruction for both developmental and advanced students. I am proud that I won Teacher of the Year in 2005 in Beaumont ISD and Teacher of the Month January 2019 and September 2019 in Sheldon ISD.
