Bio

Hello! My name is Mr. Goodenough, and I promise you that is my real last name! When it comes to teaching, I'm a big advocate for working WITH my students and guiding them in the right direction, rather than just giving answers and enforcing memorization. Think of me as a co-pilot for your learning, here to help however you need, while making sure that you're actually learning! I love helping with writing, and if we work together, I guarantee that your paper will 100% maintain your style and voice and be uniquely your work, just with some tips and tweaks from my end. I want to ensure that your paper is still YOUR paper, not mine! My students have described me as laid-back and sarcastic but also as encouraging and passionate. Learning needs to be fun, otherwise why bother? :) In my free time, I'm a musician (guitar, drums, keys, and vocals), gamer, anime fan, and amateur chef. I love chatting about shared interests and working those hobbies into my teaching!

Teacher Specialization

I taught 8th grade English from September 2015 - January 2017, then from January 2017 - June 2023, I taught English 10, 11, and 12, plus public speaking. I've also been tutoring since 2021, offering traditional tutoring for specific areas of need, SAT prep for groups and individuals, and essay editing services. I'm excited to expand this to Stride! I have a bachelor's degree in English education 7-12 from East Stroudsburg University and a master's degree in education from Wilkes University.
