Welcome to tutoring! I'm Justine H and I look forward to getting to know you soon! I live in Holland, Michigan with my husband and my four year old cat, Kiwi (who is a frequent visitor to my online math sessions). Some of my hobbies are bike rides, going to the beach or any swimming pool, reading, and playing board/card/video games. This is my 5th year as a virtual math teacher. I believe that all students are capable of success in math and I look forward to finding the strategies that are most helpful to each individual student. I believe it is important to always put forth your best effort, and if some mistakes are made in the process, they will help you learn and grow. I look forward to not only doing math with you, but also getting to know you and your interests.
Teacher Specialization
I have been teaching pre-algebra and algebra 1 virtually through Stride for the last 5 years. Before that, my experience in the brick-and-mortar setting included geometry, AP Calculus AB, and 7th grade math. I have a bachelor's degree in secondary mathematics education from Calvin University. I have about 10 years of past tutoring experience including any middle school or high school math course, as well as several college courses.
