Bio
I'm a proud and happy educator! I like to say that teaching is my superpower, not one that I inherited, but cultivated through decades in an ongoing cycle of teaching, learning, and cherishing every moment. In all honesty, however, it wasn't until my first teaching position, which was at an international school, that I was certain I had chosen the perfect career for me. My 4th-grade class was home to nine nationalities. Math was the common language, learning was individualized, and the path to success looked different for every kid. Being their teacher was far more rewarding than I ever dreamed possible. I saw myself as the lucky one, and my teaching is still impacted by these special little learners. Teaching still brings me the same joy! I have a passion for helping kids and a love (yes, love!) of math that is too strong not to share! When I am not tutoring, I am happiest spending time outdoors with my family, whether it be exploring the world or at our home on the Delaware Bay.
Teacher Specialization
Before becoming a full-time tutor, I was a public school educator for more than 30 wonderful years. Because I hold multiple statecertifications, I served various positions in my district, including: math teacher, K-8 math coach/interventionist, gifted & talented teacher, school counselor, learning specialist, Section 504 Coordinator, and Intervention and Referral Services team leader. I am a life-long learner and recently completed a rigorous training in dyscalculia tutoring.
