Bio
Hi! I'm Maddie Hommey and yes it is pronounced just like homie! I have been teaching and working with students in varying capacities for a great number of years which you can learn more about in my experiences below. These many opportunities have allowed me to work with students at all levels in a variety of subjects. I am easily adaptable and deeply value connecting with children. My many unique experiences prepare me to work with and meet the needs of any and all children even through a computer screen. I know that school and learning can be a challenge for students, so I always strive to help them find joy as they develop understanding and confidence!
Teacher Specialization
I started as a substitute teacher while pursuing a degree in education and still substitute teach to this day. In addition, I have taught virtually through Elevate K-12 and my student teaching experiences. I've worked countless camps and clinics for youth mostly focused on soccer skills and development. Furthermore, I have volunteered for events like the Special Olympics and Autism on the Seas cruises. Lastly, I tutored other students in a variety of subjects while in my own college program.
