Bio
I believe students learn best when there is a focus on connecting with prior knowledge, what they are learning, and how they can apply it to their lives. Evaluation of student progress is ongoing, and I provide feedback and direct attention to areas or subjects that need improvement. Summative assessments are used accordingly and sparingly. I design lessons that meet the specific need of the student, while integrating what they know and like to enhance the learning process. I take the time to understand what the student specifically needs, either through evaluation or parent/teacher feedback. I like to provide students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real world settings, and their own lives. Creative thinking and focusing on the individual's areas that need growth working towards academic excellence.
Teacher Specialization
I have close to 20 years of experience as an English teacher. I have both my masters and bachelors degree in education from the University of Tampa. I love to spend time in nature and traveling, and love incorporating these topics into lessons. I have extensive experience teaching English language learners of all ages.
