Hi! My name is Sarah Ames. I believe tutoring sessions should be engaging and student centered. I want every student to end the session knowing one more thing than they knew before they entered the session. Having the student interact as much as possible using the camera and microphone to explain in their own words what they are gaining from their learning session helps recall when they need to use the strategies, etc. at a later date. I constantly check for understanding through each and every lesson. Every student learns differently and I enjoy using personalized strategies for every student.
Teacher Specialization
I am in my 7th year of teaching. I am currently a middle school special education teacher. I have a Master of Education in Special Education. I have experience teaching reading, decoding and math at the middle school level. My background in special education has prepared me to zero in on the best learning strategies for each student.
