Bio
Hello! I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with you! I live just outside of Madison, Wisconsin, with my husband and two kids. I love that being a tutor allows me to spend lots of time with my family but still get to follow my passion for teaching kids. When I am teaching, I meet students where they are and adapt to their needs. I help students to see the relevance of what they are learning, the connections among topics, and multiple paths to a problem’s solution. If a student is having a hard time learning material in a certain way, I will help the student find another way to approach a problem. Learning should be a collaborative process, and I do whatever I can to work with my students and the way that they learn best. My students leave each tutoring session feeling more confident and ready for what comes next!
Teacher Specialization
I was a high school math teacher in Wisconsin for ten years, and I have been a math tutor since college. I taught AP Calculus AB and BC, Precalculus, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, and 8th grade math in my teaching career. I have tutored students in grades 6-12 for over 15 years, and online tutoring has been my primary job for the past 2 years.
