Hello there! My name is Tissan Howard, and I live in sunny south Florida with my teenage sons. Have you ever seen a person whose face always seems to be stuck in a book? That's me, a born bookworm! My goal is to help you learn to enjoy reading, too! I believe students learn best through an interactive approach, including games and hands-on activities. I also believe in the importance of developing meaningful relationships with my students. I look forward to working with you!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I have 19 years of classroom teaching experience (two years of virtual/hybrid teaching). During my last three years, I served as a part-time interventionist using programs such as Wonder Works and Reading Horizons Discover/Elevate. I also have three years of formal (working with district-contracted tutoring companies) and informal tutoring experience.
