Hello, I am Mrs. Burns a passionate, fun, and optimistic math teacher. I am known around school as the teacher with the clever jingles. Math was always a struggle for me in school so I continued in my education to ensure that I was successful at it. Although math is my favorite subject to teach I have many years of teaching all subjects in elementary education. My philosophy is that all students can grow academically if they put in effort and believe in success. It is also a bonus to have an encouraging teacher who strives to find ways to engage students based on their interests. I started teaching virtually during the pandemic but wanted to reach a wider audience, so here I am tutoring and teaching with Stride. I cannot wait to engage you, the learner, with some unforgettable lessons.

I have over one year of experience in teaching classes of students with mild-to-moderate disabilities. I have over 3 years of early childhood education experience as a child development center director. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I have a master's degree in special education. I have a doctoral degree in education leadership.
