I have a strong passion for helping student's achieve their full potential academically and emotionally. Learning is not just about what you know but how you are emotionally feeling. You can't learn if you aren't in the right head space! My goal is to explore each student's learning style and tailor the lessons based on their learning style. I value relationships as those relationships are so very important when learning as a student. I want to encourage and motivate students. I enjoy getting to know each of my students and what they enjoy outside of the classroom. My name is April Steadham and I have two girls of my own. We enjoy cooking, shopping, traveling, and trying new places to eat. I have always had a passion for helping students be the best they can be!
Teacher Specialization
I have over 10 years of experience working in education as a teacher. I started my teaching career with ELA 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I currently teach US History 8th grade and love that subject change! I have also personally homeschooled my children from grades 1-8. I also have a Master's Degree in School Counseling where I have previously worked with student's academically and emotionally.
