Hello! My name is Mrs. Westcot, and I love to make learning fun and enjoyable for students! I use games and online supplemental activities that target specific skills. I listen to what the student likes and needs to learn in order to design personalized plans for each student. I live in Minnesota now and before that I lived in Nicaragua for 15 years where I had a farm. I am fluent in Spanish. My hobbies include cooking and gardening and I am always trying to get better at both! My dogs enjoy getting their scritches and belly rubs in my free time. I have taught students of all ages from preschool to university. I have a Master's degree in Education and a Reading Specialist Credential from California. I am passionate about literacy, but I also have experience teaching Spanish and elementary math. I was a kindergarten, first grade, and Reading Recovery teacher in the public school system in California. After that, I worked for 15 years at an English-speaking university in Nicaragua.
