Bio

Students who feel encouraged, supported, and understood will be successful. I focus on building a positive rapport with my students by getting to know them on a personal level and incorporating their hobbies, interests, and strengths into our lessons. This helps us create a mutual trust that will enhance student learning. My goal as a tutor is to facilitate those "light bulb moments" where my students have breakthroughs and are finally able to grasp a new concept or cross over a long-time hurdle. I want them to know that I am proud of them and for them to feel proud of themselves. I am a homeschool mom of 3 and I am passionate about teaching. I decided to be a tutor so that I could continue to make a difference in more children's lives while still having the flexibility to teach my own children. After studying at the university level, I am fluent in Spanish and now speak like a native. I have special interest in teaching bilingual students and English Language Learners.

I have 6 years total experience. 3 years in public schools in: Kindergarten (bilingual, all) 1st grade (bilingual, all) 4th/5th grade (accelerated ESL program, all) 3 years as a private educator specializing in: English as a Second Language, tutoring, and homeschool. Certifications: General ED, bilingual (Spanish) and ESL. I am the best tutor because I have worked with students from all backgrounds and know how to quickly build trust, rapport, and reach goals while building confidence.
