Bio
I believe that the most important takeaways of learning are that science is relatable, accessible to all, and FUN! Science is about curiosity, adventure, and it is learning about the world around you. As your supporter and educator, it is my duty to help you discover your connection with science through breaking the concepts into their simplest and most understood forms. Students learn best when they get to explore the material in diverse ways; this can include through simulations, videos, discussions, practice, virtual field trips, quizzing, drawing, performing experiments and more within a single lesson. It is my goal that each session leaves you feeling accomplished, confident, supported and capable. I am a mom of three who loves to read and to be outdoors. I first found my passion for science because of a fantastic high school biology teacher, and I bring this same excitement for the sciences to my students! I teach for a Stride virtual private school.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught in both brick-and-mortar and virtual schools and have been teaching with Stride since 2020. From 2016-2018 I taught high-school Chemistry and Honors Chemistry. 2018-2019 I taught 8th grade Physical Science, and 2019-2020 taught high-school Biology and Honors Biology. I currently teach 8-12 grade courses including Physical Science, Earth Science + Honors, AP Environmental, Chemistry and Electives (Archaeology, Ag and Astronomy). I am also an adjunct high school Biology teacher.
