Bio
Hello students, parents and families! I am so happy you're here! My passions include equity, STEM, and targeted interventions in reading and math. My many roles have prepared me to work with a variety of students based on their unique needs. I would describe my teaching style as silly and structured. I love to infuse play and humor whenever possible because learning should be fun! I do so in a structured environment because learning is also a serious business. The best part about teaching is building authentic relationships with my students so that I can infuse my lessons with their likes and needs for a truly tailored experience. My favorite things to do include cooking new recipes, hiking with my family, and reading mysteries snuggled up on the couch with my cats. Learning is so much like one of my favorite hobbies - cooking. You have to follow a recipe the first few times when preparing a new dish but once you have practiced enough, it becomes second nature.
Teacher Specialization
I am a licensed elementary educator in the state of Connecticut. I hold my BS in biology and MS in elementary education. I have worn many hats over the years including that of an elementary teacher, literacy and math interventionist, STEM coordinator and special education teacher. I have tutored privately in physical settings since my time in undergrad. I began teaching and tutoring remotely in 2020 and continue to refine my skills for content creation and delivery in the remote setting.
