Bio

Hello! I'm Hannah Allen, and I'm so excited to teach you what you want or need to know about the world of art, psychology, or English reading/writing. Art-wise, I'm a huge fan of a choice-based approach to creating. I'd love to help you along your journey to making art that matters to YOU! Along the way, we can talk technique, theory, art history, and all of the fun and weird things that go into the artistic process. I'm as hands-off or as hands-on as you need, offering guidance for art making, advice on how best to harness your own creativity, and constructive criticism to help you improve. Although art is my main specificity, I also offer tutoring in psychology and reading/writing. As someone who can get super nerdy about those subjects, I'd love to help you with any concepts you're struggling with or interested in. We can go over fun memorization hacks, talk about abnormal or developmental psychology, or critique some papers.

Teacher Specialization

I am a psychology and arts graduate with an MAT in Art Education and I've been teaching visual arts (in person and virtually!) for 5 years. The majority of my experience is with grades 6-12. My content specificities range widely, including but not limited to photography, 2D and 3D art, art history, reading, writing, and psychology. If you'd like to book an art tutoring session, just book under a different subject and let me know you'd like to focus on art!
