Bio
Hi! My name is Jen Rodriguez. I live in Nebraska with my husband and 3 children. I have two boys, 10 and 8, and one girl who is 5. We enjoy lots of sports, as both boys play travel baseball and basketball, and spending time outdoors. My Teaching Philosophy: I believe that every child is unique. As a teacher, I don’t believe in treating all children the same. Each child has a different learning style that works for them. I believe as a teacher who wants children to learn and grow at their own pace, teaching styles need to be adapted to those needs. Making sure all students feel safe and comfortable is also another philosophy of mine. To learn, students need to have the confidence to trust and be ready to explore with me. As an educator, I hope to make an impact in the lives of all the students I ever teach. I want them to know that they matter, and whatever they believe they can achieve! I will always be in their section cheering for whatever it is they want to accomplish in life.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught kindergarten through 8th grade special education, also 1st grade general education. I have taught for 10 years, 8 of those years being online with Stride. Through my years of teaching, I have taught children with a variety of different needs, some of them being very high. I currently teach 5th and 7th grade special education. Through my 8 years teaching online, I have received an award for student achievement out of the central region, and also an award for outstanding teacher.
