Bio

Hey there! My name is Jennifer Ellis and I specialize in tutoring English. Before I became a teacher I was a veterinary technician for 5 years. While my love of caring for animals will always be close to my heart, I was ready to move on to another love of mine: literature. I am an avid reader and I wanted to share my love for reading with others, which is why I became an English teacher. I believe that not everyone learns the same way. Learning is unique and there is no one size fits all. My goal is to tailor each tutoring session specific to the learner to provide them with the best learning experience. There is not always time in the classroom to give students the one-on-one learning experience they need. I believe that I can provide learners with meaningful teaching strategies to help them overcome their weaknesses and utilize their strengths in reading and writing.

Teacher Specialization

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English for Secondary Education through Grand Canyon University in May of 2023 and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I currently teach 10th and 11th grade English full time while tutoring in my spare time. I am a certified English teacher for grades 7-12. I have been teaching for one year, but I was a substitute teacher for two years prior. I specialize in teaching American literature and writing and grammar.
