Hi! My name is Katherine but most of my students call me Ms. A. You can also call me Katie. When I am not teaching, I am spending my free time with my family or reading a good book. My teaching approach is focused on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring the topics of choice. I am a strong believer that anyone can learn but how we learn may be different and that is ok. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to work more closely with students and do what I do best which is teach. I am able to teach to your pace and needs which ensures you learn the material hopefully without getting overwhelmed or frustrated. My hope is that through tutoring with me you become more comfortable with the material and build confidence in yourself. I aim to develop your ability to think critically to help solve problems and develop tools for success regardless of the subject.

I have worked in the education system for 8 years now. I have been teaching for 5 years as a Special Education Teacher. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education K-12 and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education K-6. I work mainly with Math and Language arts but have experience teaching Science and Social Studies (6-7) as an Instructional Assistant and over the summer as a Summer School Teacher. I have also worked as a tutor after school with my students on various subjects as needed.
