I am a strong believer in the Growth Mindset. We are all capable of learning, and part of that is overcoming our fear of failure (which is simply a part of the learning process!). I enjoy helping students grow, whatever their goals are. I like to conceptualize learning as much as possible - in other words, how is this helpful or related to your real life? Focusing on building key skills will help you apply what you learn in tutoring to all subjects. In tutoring, we will create reachable but challenging goals to help you grow as a student. Strengthening writing and critical thinking skills will help you in all subjects and with whatever your long-term goals are - college or career. My goal as your tutor is to meet you where you are, and help you get where you want to go! We are all capable of achieving our goals, and I can help you. I live in the Pacific and I love hiking and traveling. I live with my husband, our two-year-old son, two cats, and a Pomeranian.

I have 8 years of teaching experience at the High School level, and I taught online HS for 5 years. I currently teach at a Community College in the Career and Academic Prep department. I have a BS in Liberal Studies, an MA in Teaching, and I am currently earning my MA in English. I have also earned a certification at SNHU for Online Teaching.
