Bio
My name is Meagan Ellestad, and I am a secondary math teacher. Most of my career has been in Virginia; however, I spent three years teaching math in Bogota, Colombia where I learned Spanish. When I am not teaching, I enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling, or spending time with my family. I am a firm believer that anyone can do math; it just needs to be presented in a way that makes sense to the learner. Not all students learn the same way, so you have to break things down before developing a deeper understanding of the subject. My favorite part of tutoring has always been getting to know students one on one and learning what interests them. I look forward to meeting you soon!

I have 12 years of experience teaching secondary mathematics. I tutored privately for six years. I also taught Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II for 8 years at the high school level. For the past 4 years, I taught 6th grade math and Algebra I virtually. I am very familiar with preparing students for the Virginia Standard of Learning test.
