My name is Melanie Polascak. I love reading, cooking, watching football, and spending time with my family. I am married to a math teacher and have two adorable sons. We all have birthdays within the same 30 day time period! I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I love seeing the light bulb moment when students really get the concept being covered. I know that all students are capable of learning. By providing targeted instruction and forming positive relationships in a safe environment, my students are able to grow by leaps and bounds! My commitment is to student growth. I know that by working together, my students will make gains and feel proud about all they are accomplishing. I build positive relationships by getting to know my students and connecting what they are learning to their lives and experiences. This makes the learning experience more engaging. Students know they are in a safe environment where they can excel.

I have 13 years of experience in K-5 education. I am certified in elementary education, early childhood, English as a second language, and middle grades social studies. I have taught in-person and online. I also have experience creating curriculum for elementary and middle grades students. I have done one on one tutoring and small group high dosage tutoring at the elementary level. I have two master's degree in education. I have experience with diverse and at risk learners.
