Bio
Hello! My name is Mrs. Smith. I have experience teaching literally 100's of kids! I love teaching and helping kids learn! I have worked with kids in various settings (large classrooms, small groups, one-on-one, single grade groups and multi-grade groups). I especially enjoy working with kids one-on-one and in small groups to help them learn and master new skills. I'm a mother of 3 with my oldest now an adult and no longer living at home. My other 2 children currently attend public school and participate in many activities, so much of my time is spent involved in their activities. I also spend time caring for our animals and helping out in our family run business. In my spare time I enjoy reading, learning new things, gardening, traveling (although that doesn't happen much), and spending time with family and friends.
Teacher Specialization
I graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Elementary Education, obtaining a Montana teaching license for K-9 grades. I obtained a teaching license for Oregon (currently licensed for PreK-12 grades) and taught 9 years of full-time classroom teaching in Oregon public schools. After moving and starting a family, I chose to not teach full-time and instead substitute taught (7 years), homeschooled my own children (4+ years), and volunteer work with youth (multiple years).
