Bio
Howdy! I'm Ms. Schreck (Shrek)! Yes, the same name used in the book and movies! I have recently retired with more than 30 years of teaching experience, both in the classroom and virtually. I am so excited for this new journey that allows me to work with students! I began my teaching in the lower levels of elementary, but moved into the upper elementary and middle school grades. I have been lucky enough to teach all subjects, and although I specialized in English, I found that I have a passion for History. I like to build relationships with my students and enjoy spending a couple minutes getting to know, not only their academic strengths and weaknesses, but also their passions and future plans. I work with my students not only to improve their academic weaknesses, but also build their self confidence. I have a love of animals and share my home with two cats that will probably make an appearance every now and then. When I'm not teaching, you will probably find me kayaking.
Teacher Specialization
I’ve been teaching for over 30 years. I began my career in the primary grade levels, but spent most of my experience in the upper elementary grades. I have also taught middle school and worked as an adjunct teacher for a junior College. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, grades 1-8, with a Specialization in English. I also have a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology. I presently hold a certificate in ESL.
