Bio
I am a mom of 3 and a wife of 22 years. As an educator, I am student focused while creating a positive environment and building connections is as important as academics. My experience includes preschoolers through 6th graders in academics and social emotional education throughout the past 25 years. I have absolutely loved teaching virtually for the past 3 years. It has been exciting learning the strategies and classroom management skills of a virtual classroom. My engagement activities keep students interested and moving while learning. I am also certified in LETRS: The Science of Reading, which has helped students grow in reading and language skills at all levels. I feel it is so, so important to keep students socialized while learning in a virtual setting.
Teacher Specialization
It has brought me much pleasure to have been working with children for over 25 years. Once I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education (my major was English with an emphasis in Language Arts), I began working in brick and mortar schools in the lower elementary and preschool and have tutored and taught virtually for Kindergarten through 6th grades. Young learners are my passion, yet I have adapted and learned that I love the older groups just the same.
