Bio
I'm a scientist, actuary, and educator. My years of experience with researched-backed teaching methods has taught me to use interactive methods in my lessons on science and mathematics, making sure to show how these subjects are used in real-world applications from space flight to car repair. My hobbies include woodworking, computer programming, game design, horseback riding, leatherworking, gardening, board games, and more.
Teacher Specialization
I've done the hard work to earn a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in computational nuclear physics as well as ASA from the Society of Actuaries. I've taught at the high school, undergraduate and graduate levels at Seattle Pacific University, Northwestern College, Avon High school, and edX Bootcamp. I know these materials backwards and forwards, allowing me to recognize when a student understands a subject in a novel (but valid) way, allowing me to build a bridge for my students.
