Hello! My name is Valerie Roach. I live and work in rural, East Tennessee in the same community I was born and raised in! I am a country girl who loves flowers, riding motorcycles and camping! I am a big football fan and love my TN Vols! I have a son, a daughter and 3 amazing grandchildren. They keep me (Grammy) and their Grandpa very busy when they come to visit! I have a passion for helping others learn and grow in their educational journey. I see each lesson as an opportunity not only to teach, but to learn more about my students. I believe every student is brilliant, unique and capable of great things. I strive to find what teaching strategies work for YOU! I create a class that is inviting and fun yet focused on the material. Using the right combination of traditional and innovative teaching strategies helps accomplish this for my students. Together, we can accomplish anything! I will stick with you every step of the way to success! I'm excited to meet you and get started!
Teacher Specialization
I am certified in PreK-4, Elementary 1-8, Special Education K-12, English 6-12 and Personal Finance. I have experience tutoring in Reading and English and several intervention programs including Wilson Reading and Read Naturally. I worked for several years at the state level as a mentor for after school tutoring programs. In that role, I helped train new programs in successful techniques for helping students and was asked to present trainings at state and regional conferences.
