Bio
I chose to become a tutor to help students who are having difficulty navigating through their journey with math. I believe all students can learn, you have to meet them where they are and help them grow and develop. My goal in tutoring is to have students walk away with more knowledge than when they began. Overall, it is to develop mastery and confidence in learning the subject of math. I want to build relationships of mutual respect with my students. I want them to trust me and my ability to help them learn to love math.
Teacher Specialization
I have taught math for 22 years, courses include pre-algebra, algebra I, and algebra II. I have worked with students in middle school and high school at every level, from advanced placement to resource. My bachelors degree is in Mechanical Engineering and my masters degree is in Curriculum and Instruction. I am certified to teach mathematics (Grades 8-12) and special education (EC-12).
