Hello! My name is Ms. Schenavar. I live in Florida and absolutely love the ocean! Education has always been my passion; and moving out of the classroom and into the virtual tutoring world allows for more personalized learning experiences for the students I tutor, as well as more flexibility in my daily life. I believe students learn best in an environment where they feel valued, accepted, and safe to take risks. Building relationships where students feel safe to make mistakes leads to growth! With patience, understanding, and constructive feedback...We can overcome ANY obstacle! I will use props both digital and physical to help convey meaning and understanding as well as to direct engagement. In my tutoring sessions, ALL students have a voice that matters. (If you feel like you don't, I can help you find it.) Working as a team, through discussions and practice, we can achieve your goals. Who knows...Maybe you can even teach me a thing or two!
Teacher Specialization
I have been a teacher for 18 years. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and hold teaching certifications in multiple states. I have taught all subjects in a regular classroom setting for grades Kindergarten, 1st and 3rd. I am also a certified Reading Recovery teacher and have taught small group and one-on-one Reading Intervention for 1st - 4th grade, as well as Math Intervention groups for 4th grade. I also have experience tutoring K-4 and English as a Second Language.
