Bio
Hi! My name is Amanda. I love to shop, teach and spend time with my family and pets. I made the decision to become a tutor so I can help build students confidence in school. I understand that learning doesn't come easy to everyone, and I hope to help every student feel like their best is enough. I believe students learn best when they are engaged in the learning process. This may mean relating the topic to something that interests the student or simply explaining why what they're learning is important. My goal as a tutor is to ensure the student understands what they are learning and that they are able to use that information in a variety of ways. Building a relationship with students is something I always strive to do. I want all of the students I work with to feel comfortable expressing what they need help with and asking questions. I always spend time getting to know my students before diving into learning. I look forward to helping all students succeed.
Teacher Specialization
I have been working with students in a variety of settings for over 10 years. I have experience with every grade level, but specialize in 3rd grade which I taught for 5 years. I am currently a Basic Skills teacher where I work with small groups and one-on-one to ensure students have the tools they need to be successful in the classroom!
