Nothing is too hard...it's just new! Hi, I'm Mrs. Cole. I have been privately tutoring math for over 15 years and I know how to get to the root of a student's frustrations and help them push through. I love to meet students where they are--some just want to get through the work and math may be frustrating and others want an extra challenge. Either way I love to help all students connect with the problems and where it all fits instead of just memorizing their steps. My enthusiasm for the subject and positive, encouraging style create a comfortable environment to practice and grow! Remember math is just add, subtract, multiply, and divide--the numbers just start to look a little funny, that's all!
Teacher Specialization
Many years ago, after graduating from UCSB, I was a 5th grade classroom teacher for LAUSD. I became a stay-at-home mom and started tutoring neighborhood kids in math and word spread! For the last 18 years I have tutored individual students in their homes and online and have even taught small classes in my home. I have tutored students from grades 4 - 12 but my favorite is middle school math especially pre-algebra and algebra. I'd love to help you too!
