Bio
I'm Macie Schaeffer, and my beliefs around education are pretty simple: I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive. When students feel appreciated and cared for, they can conquer any challenge! That's why I always meet students where they're at and guide them to new heights. When it comes to feedback, I believe in talking to students to see what kind of feedback is most helpful to their growth. I also believe in letting students know what they are doing well, too. I'm also all about getting creative and thinking critically, and I make sure every session is tailored to each student's unique needs. And, let's be real, students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. That's why I take the time to listen to their concerns and goals, so we can smash those academic hurdles together! When I'm not crushing it in the classroom, you can find me throwing punches in the boxing gym or cheering on the Blazers.
Teacher Specialization
I have been a teacher for 23 years. In that time I have taught 6-12th grade math, language arts, reading, social studies and electives. I have a master's degree in curriculum and instruction and a bachelor's degree in English with a German teaching minor. My experience in the classroom has prepared me to be a great tutor because I understand the struggle students have, and I am prepared to help.
