Bio
My name is Marchelene Manning. I am a creative educator and have been for the past 21 years. I believe in teaching to the strengths of the student. Every student has a strength, some are visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc. I refer to learning styles as strengths because I view these as resources that when utilized make the learning process efficient, enjoyable, and successful for all. I use unconventional and traditional methods according to the needs of my students to create a safe, affirming learning environment where students feel safe to be vulnerable and therefore maximum learning potential can be reached.
Teacher Specialization
I have a BA degree in Fine Art & Psychology and a M Ed in Education. I am currently certified in 4 states. I have been a Virtual Special Education Teacher/Intervention Specialist since 2021. I previously worked as a Special Education/English Co-Teacher for Southern Nash High School. Before that, I worked at Wilson Preparatory Academy as a Fine Arts & Special Education Teacher. I have tutored private Special Education & Arts students (Online/In Person) since 2007.
