Bio
Hello! My name is Teri Arruda. I am a mom of three beautiful girls. I sing on Praise Team at my church each week. I have been teaching for the last 11 years and I love it so much! I love learning and I love teaching, so putting the two together in tutoring was a no- brainer! All students have the capacity to learn, we just have to find the key to unlock the door between what they know and what they want to know. I believe learning should be FUN. When kids are having fun and enjoying what they're doing, their capacity to retain information is widened so much! Every learner is different, so it is important to find each student's learning style and fit their teaching to the way in which they learn. I believe that evaluation is also individualistic, and that testing should never be one-size-fits-all. My goal is for all of my students to be successful and with a growth mindset, we can track progress to help each student reach small, obtainable goals along their way to meeting standards.
Teacher Specialization
I taught kindergarten for 6 years. During that time, I served as the team leader and worked with out district on aligning curriculum for Math and Science K-5th. I currently work with students 6th-12th on varied subjects when they need help at school.
